Traditional Astrology, Ancestral Religion, and the Refusal of Spiritual Fantasy
In this conversation, I sit down with my friend Zeke Greene (veteran, former law enforcement officer, father of three, traditional astrologer, and practicing Heathen) to talk about his long search for purpose. We explore his deconstruction from Christianity, his experiences in a pagan cult-like environment, the difference between traditional astrology and modern New Age spirituality, and why discernment, historical literacy, and methodology matter when navigating spiritual claims.
We also dig into the Lion’s Gate 8/8 phenomenon and the dangers of magical thinking: what happens when symbolism becomes certainty, intuition becomes unquestionable revelation, and modern inventions are dressed up as ancient wisdom?
Finally, Zeke shares the deeply personal physical transformation that accompanied this larger rebuilding of his life. Rather than treating losing more than 100 pounds as a simple before-and-after success story, we talk about what fitting back into his military uniform represented to him, the vow he made along the way, the role of medication and mental health, and why the experience became something much more profound than weight loss.
Ultimately, this is a conversation about becoming more honest…with history, with spirituality, and with ourselves.
